Godspeed You! has announced their Black Emperor 2022 tour dates. The tour will start off in Europe on January 12, then will travel to the United States in February, wrapping up in Canada in May.
The tour will support the band’s album G_d’s Pee AT STATE’S END!, which had been released on April 2.
“We wrote it on the road mostly,” the band said of the album in a press statement. “When that was still a place. And then recorded it in masks later, distanced at the beginning of the second wave. It was autumn, and the falling sun was impossibly fat and orange. We tried to summon a brighter reckoning there, bent beneath varied states of discomfort, worry and wonderment.”
The European leg of the tour will kick off in Diksmuide, BE on January 12, 2022 at 4 AD, then wrap up in Moscow, RU on February 5 at Club 1930. It will resume in Denver, CO at the Gothic Theater on February 25, which will then wrap up with two nights in Chicago, IL at Thalia Hall on March 19 and 20. The third leg of the tour will pick up in Woodstock, NY at Levon Helm Studios on April 14, which will then finish off in Ottawa, ON at Bronson Centre on May 7, 2022.
Tickets for shows will be available at each venue’s individual website, with an entire list available here.
