As massive as the Greek Theatre is, just one show would not accommodate the Los Angeles local’s demand for Khruangbin tickets. The first show was announced for Thursday, November 4, and a second and third show were added shortly after for Wednesday, November 3 and Friday, November 5. It’s clear that music fans are itching to watch some live music after waiting over a year without any live entertainment. This show is the perfect way to get back in the groove, as you’ll be dancing all night long under the stars to Texas trio Khruangbin, who are ready to perform some tracks off their 2020 album, Mordechai.
Khruangbin are know for their incredible live performances, which often include catchy hip-hop medleys that get every crowd going. They’re also known to bring the disco with them, with past performances featuring large glimmering disco balls illuminating the stage. The Houston group consisting of bassist Laura Lee, guitarist Mark Speer and drummer DJ Johnson blend a unique mix of East Asian surf-rock, Persian funk and Jamaican dub. They’ve performed on major festival stages including Coachella and an unforgettable Desert Daze performance which saw them join the legendary Wu-Tang Clan during their set. They recently collaborated with Leon Bridges for the delightful album Texas Sun. Their latest release, Mordechai, sees Khruangbin finding their voice with more vocals included in the songs, departing from their usual instrumental style.
Tickets recently went on sale on Friday, April 2 via AXS for $29.50 to $59.50 each plus service fees. Grab a friend and take your pick of evenings (or pick them all!) to see this incredible psych rock act.
