65daysofstatic Launch Wreckage Systems Continuous Live Stream

65daysofstatic has returned with their livestream event for their new project, Wreckage Systems. The project features eerie ambient tones and haunting sounds. Streaming for over nine hours, brief robotic voices describe what Wreckage Systems is.

Wreckage Systems is the scaffolding that we erect to stop the crushing weight of the heavy sky folding down around us,” the robotic voice says. Several “commercials” interrupt the stream, which 65daysofstatic stated will be heard in the future systems.

Upon first announcing the project, 65daysofstatic had said, “Most of this music sounds like a soundtrack to a film that hasn’t been made yet. Or like soundscapes to unmapped places. Or like beats and unruly feedback in a land where there’s no more nightclubs or live venues to amplify it in. Loop drifts loops and noise seeds, waiting for the wind to catch and carry them out into the world.”

Subscribers to the band’s Patreon had been able to get an advanced listen of Wreckage Systems along with behind-the-scenes information about how it had been created. True to how 65daysofstatic described the project, Wreckage Systems features washing soundscapes that weave like the ocean, statically bouncing over one another.

“Wreckage pro tip: any music you hear in the background of the 65LABS adverts that pop up every so often in the stream will likely eventually be heard in future systems and/or in the accompanying e.p. Releases,” 65daysofstatic said on social media.

Audio for the project can be heard via the band’s website, while streaming is available via both Youtube and Twitch.

Wreckage Systems follows A Year of Wreckage, which saw the band releasing old recordings throughout the span of year. New material had been released each month via Bandcamp, with the project including 65 sound palettes, a catalog of computer errors and more.
