According to Brooklyn Vegan, hip hop group Armand Hammer and producer The Alchemist have released a new single titled “Black Sunlight,” featuring Kayana. The song comes from the musicians’ collaborative album Haram, which was released March 26 via Backwoodz Studioz.

The uplifting song features a soulful sample courtesy of The Alchemist, telling listeners to “smile.” Rapper Billy Woods responds to “absurd politics,” by explaining that he “ain’t even answer, just let the weed burn / Unconcerned.” He goes on to describe how the “Game is the game, just gotta change tactics.”
The song’s instrumentation is both experimental and ethereal, merging with Woods’ verses to create a dynamic and bright track. Cheerful sounds pair with optimistic lyrics in “Black Sunlight.”
Haram, features several musical guests like Earl Sweatshirt, Quelle Chris, Amani, Fielded and more. Many of them have collaborated with Armand Hammer in the past on their 2020 album Shrines.
The Alchemist collaborated with Freddie Gibbs in 2020 to release their album Alfredo on May 29. The album featured artists such as Tyler the Creator, Rick Ross, Benny The Butcher and more. In 2019 the artist also collaborated with Earl Sweatshirt on his EP Feet of Clay.
In 2017, The Alchemist produced a Mobb Deep track titled “Try My Hand.” The song pays homage to the late MC and good friend of Mobb Deep, Prodigy.
