Purity Ring Rescheduled Tour de Womb Hits The Wiltern 12/11/21

It’s been nearly a year since Canadian electro-pop duo Purity Ring scheduled their initial Womb tour, which was first  postponed to spring 2021 due to Covid-19 and is now set to embark this fall 2021. Their new Los Angeles date at The Wiltern is set for December 11, 2021, which will be the final date to complete their North American tour. The highly awaited “tour de womb,” as they’ve dubbed it, will deliver a truly multi-sensory show experience complete with a custom-built audio-visual light setup.

Purity Ring were formed in 2010 and consists of vocalist Megan James and multi-instrumentalist/producer Corin Roddick. Their debut album Shrines was released in 2012 to critical acclaim as a “future-pop” album with dark, atmospheric synths featuring trip-hop elements and macabre lyrics.

Since Shrines, Purity Ring have veered more on the pop side with their 2015 release Another Reality, and even more so with their latest release, Womb, which features backing vocals from Mew singer Jonas Bjerre. The band recently released a stunning yet eerie video for “sinew” off their latest album. The duo have collaborated with artists like Danny Brown and also co-wrote and produced three songs on Katy Perry’s 2017 album Witness.

Experience the “tour de womb” for yourself at the Wiltern and transport yourself to the future of pop music.
