Oakland-based heavy rockers Y&T (originally known as Yesterday & Today) are coming to the Whisky A Go Go on April 9, 2021. A host of hard rockers are opening for them, including The Hard Way, Member and Wild Ride. The band was most active from 1976-1997, but they recently released an acoustic album called Acoustic Classix Vol. 1 as well as a documentary titled Y&T: On With the Show, which received high praise from critics and fans.
After releasing their first two albums in the late ’70s, Y&T toured extensively and opened for some major rock acts including Wild Cherry, AC/DC and Kiss. All together, Y&T have 13 studio albums and a handful of live albums and compilations. Their sixth studio album In Rock We Trust was their highest charting, reaching No. 46 on the Billboard 200. Their hit single “Don’t Stop Runnin'” off the album was the first to receive major radio play. They continued their success streak with “Summertime Girls,” their biggest hit to date.
