Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish are heading on a world tour next fall in support of their new release Human. :II: Nature. The band was initially planning on heading on tour this spring, but the tour was postponed due to Covid-19. The award-winning band will stop in Los Angeles at The Wiltern for two dates, Friday and Saturday, October 1 and 2, 2021.
Nightwish formed in 1996 in Kitee, Finland, and were popular in their home country since the release of their debut album Angels Fall First. They received international success following the release of their three next albums Oceanborn, Wishmaster and Century Child. Their 2004 album, Once, featured their biggest US hit single, “Wish I Had an Angel” and sold more than one million copies, expanding their fan base to the US. The band changed up lead singers, replacing founding member Tarja Turunen with Anette Olzon in 2007. Their sixth album Dark Passion Play continued their successful streak, selling nearly two million copies. In 2012, the band changed lead singers again to current lead vocalist Floor Jansen. In 2018, Nightwish was inducted into the Finnish Music Hall of Fame. They released their ninth studio album, Human. :II: Nature. on April 10, 2020.
