English DJ and record producer Nightmares on Wax is coming to the Wiltern in Los Angeles in the distant future of April 7, 2022. This performance will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the DJ’s successful 1995 album Smoker’s Delight. The show was initially scheduled to take place earlier this year, along with a tour, but has been pushed back due to Covid-19. For this special performance, Nightmares on Wax (aka George Evelyn) will perform Smoker’s Delight in its entirety. This will be an orchestrated show, brought to you by KCRW 89.9.
Smoker’s Delight was a milestone album for the English DJ, defining that generation of music. The album solidified Eveyln’s sound he’s known for, which includes iconic downtempo, soul and hip hop material. It was placed at no, 15 on Fact’s “50 Best Trip-Hop Albums of All Time” list. The DJ has eight albums under his belt, as well as a compilation, a handful of singles and EPs. Evelyn’s recent output includes the critically and commercially acclaimed Nightmares on Wax Back to Mine compilation, released earlier this year, as well as his long-awaited eighth album Shape The Future. Needless to say, 2020 has been a busy year for the DJ.
