Celebrate Judas Priest’s 50 year career by seeing the Birmingham-bred heavy metal legends live in action during their 2021 tour. The band initially scheduled their tour for 2020 before Covid-19 hit, and have since pushed their tour back one full year with their new Los Angeles date scheduled for October 6, 2021 at the Microsoft Theater, which holds one of the largest indoor stages in the US. Swedish metal act Sabaton will also be featured on the tour as the opening act.
“Judas Priest are primed and ready to deliver the goods with our 50 Heavy Metal Years anniversary celebration stage show spectacular!” the band said in a statement. “Performing a blistering cross section of songs from our lives in metal – we can’t wait to raise horns with you again at this once-in-a-metal-lifetime event!”
Judas Priest formed in 1969 and have been an influential, heavy metal staple ever since. In 2010, they won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance, and 2017 saw their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination, thus following their official induction in 2020. Their most recent album Firepower was released in 2018 and was the highest charting album of their career. It’s clear that, like a fine wine, Judas Priest have just gotten better with age.
The band’s current lineup consists of founding members Rob Halford (vocals), Ian Hill (bass) and Glen Tipton (lead guitar), as well as 30-year veteran Scott Travis (drummer), and more recent additions Richie Faulkner (rhythm/lead guitar) and Andy Sneap (rhythm/lead guitar). Grab your tickets and celebrate 50 years of heavy metal with Judas Priest!
