With Nine Inch Nails being announced as an inductee in the Rock and Roll Hal of Fame, only certain members of the group will be receiving the award. According to the PRP, Trent Reznor, frontman and also programmer/keyboardist, Atticus Ross, guitarist Robin Finck, keyboardist, Alessandro Cortini and drummer, Ilan Rubin is all set to receive the honor.
Chris Vrenna, who was apart of the band from the late 1980s through 1997, played on the band’s hit songs “Pretty Hate Machine,” “Broken” and “The Downward Spiral.” He also performed with the band during their incredible Woodstock ’94 set. Since leaving the band, Vrenna debuted a new moniker named Tweaker, which he has four albums under called The Attraction to All Things Uncertain released in 2001, 2 a.m. Wakeup Call in 2004 and Call The Time Eternity , eight years after their sophomore effort in 2012. Their last release was 2013’s And Then There’s Nothing.
Cortini had played with Nine Inch Nails twice, appearing on four albums after joining the live band on their 2005 “With Teeth” tour. Cortini then went on to form his another project called SONIO, which his third and final album under the moniker, Fine, was released in 2018. Former bassist Danny Lohner will also be inducted. Lohner‘s time with the band ran from 1993 up until his departure in 2003, also featured on hits“The Downward Spiral,” “The Fragile” and “Things Falling Apart.”
Ross and Reznor together have contributed to many film and television scores, including the most recent critically acclaimed television show Watchmen starring Regina King. The soundtrack was split into three volumes, with the last volume including “lost record” from a fictional band ironically called The Nine Inch Nails.
Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction special will be aired on HBO and HBO Max subscribers on November 7. The other inductees for this year include Depeche Mode The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, The Notorious B.I.G. and T-Rex.
Frontman Trent Reznor recently announced his plans of what he is working during the global pandemic. While their scheduled Black & Infinite Tour with Johnny Beth was canceled, Reznor revealed that he is working on new Nine Inch Nails material alongside some soundtracks. Late last year, he also revealed that he is working on new full-length studio album and released Ghosts V & VI as Nine Inch Nails.
