As more businesses start to re-open, it’s been interesting to also see how the entertainment industry is slowly making a comeback. We’re seeing more intimate outdoor concerts with social distancing and face masks, but also a nostalgic return to the drive-in theaters. In Ventura, their new Concerts In Your Car series is starting this Friday, August 28, with socially distanced cars driving in to the Ventura Fairgrounds. Metal legends Metallica have recorded a special performance that will be screened during in this concert series on August 29. While yes, it’s a bummer they won’t be playing live, the website suggests that this event “will provide Metallica fans with an intimate, up-close drive-in concert experience, featuring material spanning the band’s nearly four decade career.”

You’ve probably already heard of Metallica… their heavy yet accessible sound has garnered them fans such as myself, yourself, and probably even your brother, sister and mother. This particular screened performance is sure to be attended by fans of all backgrounds, each of which will also score four digital downloads of Metallica’s S&M2, the long-awaited album documenting the two historic concerts that reunited the band and San Francisco Symphony for the first time in 20 years, per ticket.

This Encore Drive-In Nights featuring Metallica will also include a special guest performance by Three Days Grace, filmed exclusively for this event. Hop in your car and test out the future of live music with this legendary act!
