Deftones have been teasing the release of their album all summer long. There’s an update on the road to the release of their next album, and that is a billboard. The band shared their coordinates via social media, which lead fans of the band to a billboard in Los Angeles, which is for their upcoming album, which is speculated to be called Ohms. A fan posted the billboard on their Instagram after finding the coordinates.
This will be their ninth studio album and the rumor that the release will be coming on September 25 has been allegedly confirmed by the billboard. The writing on the billboard says, “This is our time, we devour the days ahead 9-25-20.” Deftones’ new advertisement for their upcoming release was found earlier today, August 19.
Deftones, like many other bands, had to postpone their tour that was scheduled for this summer due to coronavirus. However, according to the source, there was artwork that had originally been meant for the tour, that was from their new album.
Earlier in the year, the frontman of the band, Chino Moreno, had let slip the name of the album in an interview, which had since been edited to keep the title a secret. Although, all of the singles that they have released leading up to the release of the album, have made an acronym for the title of the album. In this order they released each single: “One Week,” “Hexagram,” and “Minerva”. Each first letter of the song titles has made up the title of the album Ohms. With one letter left in the album name, fans are hoping for there to be another single release before the September 25 release, which is a Friday, the day that albums are traditionally released.
