Canadian electronic artists Holy Fuck are coming to the Roxy theater next year on April 1, 2021. The show will be one of their many stops on their international tour in support of their 2020 release Deleter. They’re bringing along Toronto-based synth-pop artist Moon King for the tour. Their current lineup includes Brian Borcherdt and Graham Walsh on the keys/effects, Matt “Punchy” McQuaid on bass and Matt Schulz on the drums.
Holy Fuck formed in 2004 as an innovative indie electronic group, quickly setting themselves apart by incorporating a 35 mm film synchronizer, toy keyboards and toy phaser guns to achieve electronic-sounding effects without the use of laptops or programmed backing tracks. Their self-titled debut album was recorded with Laurence Currie and Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Apostle of Hustle), was named one of the top ten albums of 2005 by the Montreal Mirror. They’ve toured extensively in the US with artists including Wolf Parade, MIA, Super Furry Animals, Enon, !!!, Mouse on Mars, Cornelius, and Do Make Say Think, and in Eurpore with Buck 65 . They have also played several international festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury, SXSW and more.
The band’s fifth studio album, Deleter was released via Last Gang Records on January 17. The lead single “Luxe” features Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, and was released with a trippy music video.
Prepare to say “Holy Fuck” when you see them perform live at the Roxy!
