Soul artist Jordan Mackampa was born in he Republic of Congo and raised in London. He’s coming to SoCal this year, after his initial 2020 tour and Constellation Room performance for March 24 was rescheduled to November 6 due to Covid-19. West Londoners Babeheaven will join Mackampa in support of this show.
Mackampa’s debut album Foreigner was released this year on March 13, after releasing two EPs and a handful of standalone singles that amassed over 65 million streams. His anthemic single “Battlecry” is the theme song for BBC 1’s hit drama Our Girl and has also been featured in the Levi’s brand 2019 commercial “Use Your Voice.”
Mackampa mixes soul, R&B, folk and pop together, in similar fashion as popular stars like The Weeknd. Songs like “Love at First Sight” are catchy pop anthems, while “Magic” plays into his nostalgic rock and soul sound. While his sound is on the softer, subtle side, his performance is sure to be a powerful one.
