Legendary experimental band Kraftwerk is reissuing previously released albums in their original German language on digital streaming services. The original albums, Trans Europa Express, Die Mensch-Maschine, Computerwelt, Techno Pop and The Mix, prior to this announcement were all released digitally available to stream in English.
In addition to the albums being released in July the electronic group will also be releasing an HD Surround mix of their documentary 3-D The Catalogue. Viewers can watch on Amazon as well as on Tidal, with the option of German.
Kraftwerk had a stream of dates lined up this year including their 50th anniversary tour that was expected this summer. Shortly after the news that one of the founding members of the group, Florian Schneider, had passed from his long battle with cancer at the age of 73, they announced their exhibit at the MET. Their tour for their 50th anniversary has since been postponed due to COVID-19.
The original German versions of these albums has been a long time coming since the band originally formed in the early 70s. The albums that will be released to stream the original digital versions were originally released in English in this order as follows: Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Techno Pop (1983) and The Mix (1991). You will be able to stream the reissued albums on any digital streaming service on July 3.
