Come Get Down With Bikini Kill at Franklin Music Hall on November 22nd

Bikini Kill is a feminist punk rock band that was formed in Olympia, Washington in 1990. The group is composed of Kathleen Hanna (singer/songwriter), Billy Karren (guitar), Kathi Wilcox (bass) and Tobi Vail (drums). The group stayed together 7 years, eventually breaking up in 1997, releasing two studio albums, several EPs and two compilation albums during that stretch. However, incredibly for fans of Bikini Kill and feminist punk rock in general, Bikini Kill has reunited, going on tours in 2019 and 2020. Unfortunately, their 2020 tour was pushed back, so they will be performing at Franklin Music Hall in late November now.

Regardless of the postponement, they will be rocking the house when it comes time. They have not released very much new music since the 90’s, and so this tour will largely be a blast from the past. If you’ve never heard of this group before, I’d recommend you check out Rebel Girl, Feels Blind, and Carnival to get a feel for their style.
