Murder by Death Is Playing Union Transfer July 25th

Murder by Death, originally slated to perform on March 25th, have just announced their new tour dates. They have pushed back their Philly date by almost exactly 4 months, and they will be coming to town on the 25 of July. This tour will be in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their first show. This indie rock group hails from Bloomington, Indiana. If you’ve heard the name before, it’s because the group is named after a 1976 film called Murder by Death

The group currently consists of six members, with the most recent addition coming in 2020 when they picked up a violinist by the name of Emma Tiemann. The other five members are as follows: Adam Turla (vocals, guitar), Sarah Balliet (cello, keyboards), Dagan Thogerson (drums, percussion), David Fountain (jack of all trades — piano, percussion, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, trumpet, accordion, vocals), and finally Tyler Morse (bass, vocals). They have been quite successful and have seen an upward trajectory in recent years, with their four most recent albums all hitting the Billboard 200 in some capacity. Each ticket comes with a free zine looking back at the last 20 years.  Get yours now and come enjoy a night of drinks, live music and dancing. The show is at 8:30
