Of Montreal is an eclectic indie pop band from Athens, Georgia formed in 1996 by frontman Kevin Barnes. To say they have a style that is rare and uniquely their own would truly be an understatement. Their debut album Cherry Peel was released in 1997 and they have since recorded and put out over a dozen albums including their most recent 2020 release of UR FUN featuring the 80s-esque dance track “Peace to All Freaks”. Of Montreal are well-known for their psychedelic indie pop sound and eccentric live performances, bringing colorful creatures and characters on stage and always keeping their shows unpredictable.

Lead singer and primary songwriter Barnes creates uplifting dance beats and quirky poetry for lyrics, at times, tapping into deep emotions and getting heavily introspective. With eccentric live performances and Barnes’s love for connecting with the crowd and fellow bandmates, of Montreal are truly a collective act on stage. If you’re feeling enticed to see what they’re all about, now’s your chance to check them out!
