Built to Spill Performing Live at Mohawk 7/18

Built to Spill are one of the most popular bands of the indie rock genre. With eight studio albums and several singles, they continue making laidback nostalgic rock. The band is going on tour this summer and will be hitting up Austin’s Mohawk on Saturday, July 18th. Doors to the venue will open at 8:00pm with the show to kick off an hour later at 9pm. You can purchase advance general admission tickets now for $27 and the price will increase to $30 if you get them on the day of the show.

Built to Spill formed in 1993 in Boise, Idaho and started gaining recognition after the release of their 1994 album There’s Nothing Wrong with Love, which received many positive reviews. Keep it Like a Secret was released in 1999 and was a 10-track melodic indie rock gem featuring the much-loved tracks “You Were Right” and “Carry the Zero”. Over the years, the band has had several variations in creativity and constant success while keeping their low-key indie vibe, mixing grunge styles with elements of pop punk. In 2015, the band released their latest album Untethered Moon and they have recently put out Plays the Songs of Daniel Johnston, a tribute to the singer who passed away last year. Built to Spill are known for their exciting live performances where lead singer/guitarist Dough Martsch pulls off some amazing guitar solos.

This show will be a one-of-a kind experience for indie rock lovers. Catch Built to Spill at Mohawk this summer!
