Vibe Out with Jhené Aiko at The Warfield on 6/11

Almost immediately recognizable for her trance-like and soothing voice, Jhené Aiko, is one of the most famous faces of the new age of R&B and neo-soul. Also known for being from a very musical family—her sister is R&B singer, Mila J—Jhené Aiko has become a musical force all on her own.

Starting from an early age in the music industry as an affiliate act for the boy band, B2K, Jhené was set to debut as an artist with her first studio album, My Name is Jhené, slated for release in 2003. However, after asking to be released from her contract, it wasn’t until 2011 that Jhené finally released her first full-length project, a mixtape titled Sailing Soul(s). From here on out, it was history in the making. Since then, Jhené has released an EP, multiple platinum singles, and three studio albums that have all garnered great acclaim. Her most recent project, Chilombo, is the album she is now embarking on a tour to promote. With a date in the Bay Area on June 11th at The Warfield, Jhené is the last artist you would want to miss. Be sure to continue following her and Mxdwn for all your music updates.

Kimberly Chen: Hello! My name is Kimberly Chen, and I am currently a student at the University of California, Berkeley, Class of 2023. I'm incredibly passionate about music and am a fan of hip-hop, R&B, alternative music, and more. My favorite artists include Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, J. Cole, Joy Crookes, and more. My favorite live experiences include Rolling Loud Bay Area (2019) and Kendrick Lamar on his DAMN Tour (2017). I'm hoping to expand my knowledge of the music industry and gain amazing insight into the world of music and entertainment. I hope to one day work at the intersection of public relations, brand management, marketing, and music. Thanks for reading!
