Few artists have experienced the rapid success of Big Thief. It seems like only a week ago that they were opening up the Mayan ahead of Perfume Genius, hot off the heels of their stellar breakout album, Capacity. Then all of the sudden they had to go and make 2019 happen. That year they released two full length records that any group would have been proud to have in their discography.
Now, with a string of three incredible records trailing behind them, the future of Big Thief is looking brighter and brighter. This year they’re heading to the Palladium to bring their cool, yearing sound to Los Angeles. It may not sound like much on the surface, but headlining a show at the Palladium is a dream for many an artist. Given that Big Thief is still relatively new into their careers it boggles the mind to consider the venues they may soon be playing at.
Fans of the band have long praised their stage presence, and having seen them live, it’s well worth praising. They seamlessly bounce between cool and depressing to upbeat and bombastic. Every performance is custom tailored to the audience and rarely maintains the same elements from show to show.
If you consider yourself a fan of indie or of rock music in general, you owe it to yourself to head to this concert, There are few groups that do it better than Big Thief, plus what will you have planned after being stuck inside for six months anyway.
