Emancipator Is Coming to The Ave Live on October 3

Douglas Appling, who goes by his stage name Emancipator, is a producer and DJ based out of Portland, Oregon. He is a very unique artist, with his style falling under genres such as electronica, trip hop, and downtempo. He launched his career back in 2006 by self-releasing his debut album, Soon It Will Be Cold Enough, while still in college.

To date, he has released a total of 5 studio albums. His most recent came in 2017 in Baralku. He began to gain real attention with the release of his second album, Safe in the Steep Cliffs (2010). There was a four year gap between his first and second album, and his hard work during that time clearly paid off. He has tens of millions of plays on Spotify and his young career is only beginning. His next album, Mountain of Memory, is slated to be released in early April of this year. Look out for this album, and definitely mark this show on your calendar – presale is going on now.
