Some combos are a match made in Heaven. Musa Masa and Slowthai are one of them. Both artists are young performers from the UK who have made their names with bold, boundary pushing music that captured the ears of people within their country and overseas in equal measure.
Mura Masa, a young electronic musician, is best known for “Lovesick” a viral track that grew especially popular in the UK. In his short time as an artist, Mura Masa has already been nominated for two Grammys and won one. His self titled record not only garnered him awards but also commercial and critical acclaim for its inventive use of sound.
Slowthai similarly burst onto the scene last year with his record Nothing Great About Britain, a scathing indictment of the UK that touched on racism, economic disparity and stupidity all at once. With the election of Boris Johnson, the record only gained more viciousness and poignancy. Since then he’s become well regarded for his energetic live shows and excellent features.
These two artists are coming together for a Coachella sideshow at the Shrine auditorium near USC. Be sure to catch these two incredible performers together on April 15th.
