Explosions in the Sky Performing for ACL Live at the Moody Theater 5/30

Hailing from the live music city of Austin, Explosions in the Sky are a live performance unlike any other. Like their name, the band’s music crescendos from melodic progressions into an intense and powerful explosion of instrumental indie rock. Eventually, Explosions in the Sky became an iconic addition to the instrumental genre and their music was featured in movies and even video games.

Explosions in the Sky formed officially in 1999 and released their exceptionally orchestrated album Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever in 2001. The band’s fourth full-length album titled All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone claimed a spot on the Billboard Top 200 leading to the release of their following album Take Care, Take Care, Take care, gaining more and more of a fanbase with every new album. Their latest one, 2016’s The Wilderness is an emotional journey that shows the most melodic side of Explosions in the Sky, exploring a new yet familiar sound from the band with more focus on the softer elements of their music as a whole.

Explosions in the Sky are celebrating the 20-year anniversary of their formation this year and will be playing a show here in their hometown for Austin City Limits Live on Saturday, May 30th. Doors to this all ages show will open at 6:30pm and the band will bring the stage to life at 8pm. General admission tickets are currently going for $37 so get yours soon!
