This metalcore group out of San Francisco was founded in 2000, and they have been a huge influence on the metal scene throughout their time. Their current lineup is as follows: Tim Lambesis (vocals), Jordan Mancino (drums), Phil Sgrosso (guitar), Nick Hipa (guitar), and Josh Gilbert (vocals). They have had a lot of turnover, with 9 former members. The group also went on hiatus when Lambesis was sentenced to prison in 2013 for solicitation of murder. They reunited after his release in 2016.
All else aside, the group has been very successful overall, with a large and dedicated fan base. Their last 5 albums have all been top 50 on the Billboard 200. Their fourth album, An Ocean Between Us (2007), was #1 on the US Rock chart. Their following 3 albums were all top 7 on that same chart. It is clear to see that this group are critically acclaimed, and their hardcore looks and style definitely support their image and musical style.
