Well, it looks like COVID-19 may have won this round. Earlier this morning Governor Newsom announced that all gatherings of over 250 people would be suspended, but as we see it there’s still the chance that concerts could go on in the future so in the meantime we will continue to keep you up to date on the latest shows and events coming to Los Angeles. In the event that anything changes, we, and you all, will just have to adjust accordingly.
So with this round being won by a viral outbreak what does that leave us with? Luckily, it leaves us with a new record from Body Count, the legendary hip-hop metal group featuring Ice-T. This iconic group was one of the first to bring the politics of black America to the traditionally white realm of metal music. The result was a group that captured the righteous anger that people of color felt, and channeled it through a fittingly aggressive sound.
To support their new record, Carnivore, Body Count has set out on a North American tour, and will of course be stopping in Los Angeles. Should the pandemic subside and all go as planned, expect to see this one of a kind metal group at one of our favorite venues, the Fonda, on May 20th.
Location: The Fonda
