There are few people in the world who are stranger than Eric Andre. Having seen him live I can attest that it is by far one of the most incomprehensible, borderline indescribable things a person can witness. Yet the man is undeniably hilarious. So much of the humor comes from his peculiar nature that they are hopelessly intertwined.
Of course this is a music blog so you’re probably here for music. Let’s start with Eric Andre’s friends. Some of the higher profile artists Andre is known to associate with include Flying Lotus and Thundercat, both of whom appeared at the adult swim festival along with Eric Andre.
This particular event features the talents of Mike Patton, Qbert, Lightning Bolt, Talib Kweli and Reggie Watts. Now I could go wax poetic about any one of these talented artists individually but as a group they form one of the most impressive line ups I’ve ever seen.
Sadly tickets for this event have already sold out via traditional means but are still available via resale. While it’s likely to be steep I can’t think of any time you’ll ever be able to see a lineup that is this good and this strange. Even if you do manage to find one it won’t have Eric Andre. I’d pay an arm and a leg to see Lightning Bolt alone, so I’d suggest you look fast before they get even more expensive.
