Often times the bulk of the traffic flowing into Coachella comes from Los Angeles. This isn’t too strange in and of itself, LA is one of the most populous cities in the US and it thrives on a culture of being, well, culturally aware. So for many Angelenos a yearly trip to the desert to take a lot of pointless photos is a must.
Luckily for those who can’t swing a full Coachella ticket the inverse is often true, with many artists making the trek out to Los Angeles to play a show on the dates surrounding Coachella. One of the artists traveling out west is Ari Lennox who will be playing a show at the Novo Theater on April 13th.
Lennox is a neo soul singer who has gained acclaim for her dreamy, down to earth style. In 2019 she hit the charts with “Shea Butter Baby” which saw her working with J. Cole. Her shows are often called vibrant and exciting by concert attendees and her record, also titled Shea Butter Baby made it onto the top 10 R&B charts, an impressive feat for a debut album.
You can catch Lennox as she captivates the crowd at the Novo prior to her showing at Coachella. If nothing else I can promise that the show at the Novo will feature slightly fewer selfies and a lot fewer sunburns. So pick your poison.
