We tend to get a little giddy when new things open in Los Angeles. The newest restaurant is suddenly the best in the city, the new movie theater has comfier seats, the new concert venue is bigger and better, but it’s rare that we get the opportunity to welcome something as big as SoFi stadium, and an opening that big requires a little bit more pomp and circumstance than your average opening, so we’ve got a few big artists coming down to warm up the engine before the Rams take over.
One of the more notable artists swinging by the state of the art stadium will be Guns N’ Roses. Having recently been revitalized by the re-acquisition of original band members Slash and McKagan, the band has finally re-achieved its legendary status and is set to welcome Los Angeles to the jungle.
It’s difficult to imagine that anyone reading this would be unfamiliar with Guns N’ Roses, but in case anyone is they’re one of the most important rock bands of all time, despite their somewhat limited output consisting of only six studio albums. But that sort of title will be handed to you when one of your albums is Appetite for Destruction.
As one of the premier party rock bands, it’s no surprise that Los Angeles has managed to play host to Guns N’ Roses, but it’s a good time to note that this might be your best and last shot to see GNR with such an incredible and original lineup onstage, because let’s be honest, it’s not GNR without Slash.
