The Annual Fortress Festival in Fort Worth, Texas has announced its 2020 lineup featuring the likes of electronic dance producer Diplo, R&b singer Miguel and singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten. This upcoming festival will take place at the Cultural District of Fort Worth this April 25th and 26th, with tickets available for purchase here.
This will be Diplo’s first-ever performance at Fort Worth, and he is currently scheduled to hold both a headlining and a close-out set for the event. Other prominent performers who are featured on this year’s lineup include Cuco, Big K.R.I.T, Kero Kero Bonito, The Free Nationals, Wet and Combo Chimbita.
Diplo has recently been going into different musical ventures, and dropped a couple of country songs under his birth name Thomas Wesley. These tracks include his song “Heartless,” featuring country artist Morgan Wallen and “So Long,” featuring the country star Cam. These songs feature an electronic trap beat, in a style which Diplo is known for producing blended with country vocals and instrumentals such as acoustic guitars in a style similar to Lil Nas X’s big hit “Old Town Road.”
Van Etten teamed up with jazz pianist Norah Jones during a performance of the track “Seventeen,” on the Late Show with Steven Colbert last year. The performer also teamed up with the alternative rock band Wilco during a recent performance in Chicago, where they performed “Radio Cure” and a cover of the John Lennon Classic “Happy X-Mas (War Is Over).”
