Alternative rock band Foo Fighters have released a live cover of British rock band Killing Joke’s “Requiem,” which was originally covered by the band for their album The Colour and The Shape, released in 1997. This live version was recorded in 1997 at the BBC Studios, and originally appeared on Killing Joke’s Absolute Dissent as a bonus track in 2010.

The song makes another appearance on the band’s 00979725 EP, alongside six new tracks, including a live version of “I’ll Stick Around,” a slow version of “Up In Arms,” featured on The Colour and the Shape, and “Dear Lover,” a B-side. The new track is a throwback to their 1997 sound, with dynamic chords, Grohls soft vocals and pounding instrumentals.

The band released another EP consisting of live songs recorded at Roswell, New Mexico, in support of the viral meme to raid area 51. This project was named, 00050525 Live in Roswell, and includes 7 tracks recorded at  the Walker Air Force Base in the town known for an alleged 1947 alien spacecraft crash.

Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders, a spinoff project headed by the Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins recently debuted a new song titled “I Really Blew It,” featuring his fellow bandmate and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell.

The band, along with several other high profile artists such as Lizzo, Beck and Lady Gaga supported the recent #BansOffMyBody campaign created by Planned Parenthood. According to the organization, “Specifically, the artists are asking their supporters to add their name to a national petition calling for an end to the abortion bans, with a goal of collecting half a million signatures by the anniversary of Roe v. Wade in January 2020.”
