Matoma Will Be Coming To The Fillmore On January 29

Matoma, the Norweigan DJ, is currently on an international tour spanning four countries. He is co-headlining his tour with the incredible duo, Two Friends. Matoma has been on the scene since about 2014 and although his official discography is somewhat limited, he has a large number of singles and remixes that show his full skillset and unique sound. Hakuna Matoma (2016) and One in a Million (2018) are his two LP’s but one trip to his Soundcloud or Spotify page and you will see it is littered with gems that came out as singles. Huge hits of his like All Night and Old Thing Back Remix have nearly 700 million plays combined. His other singles from 2015 and 2016 are equally great in my opinion. I recommend you check out the singles with the cover art that looks like mosaic patterns with a white background, particularly Knives, Love You Right, and Running Out — all bordering more on house music than strict EDM.

He will be touring alongside Two Friends, a Los Angeles-basedDJ/producer duo made up of Eli Sones and Matthew Halper. This young duo is quickly gaining a lot of attention and popularity, and for good reason. Their remixes of songs like Lana Del Ray’s Born To Die, Blink 182’s I Miss You, and The Killers’ Mr. Brightside are the platform that they started with. They have also made official remixes for artists such as Tove Lo, The Chainsmokers, and Echosmith. This is not only one of the hottest duos, but one of the hottest artists period. They are still yet to come out with a full LP but their two EP’s, You (Me) and Out of Love have given us a glimpse of their potential. Even with their short career thus far, they have amassed 27 #1 tracks on HypeMachine, and the Chainsmokers went so far as to call them the ‘Most Underrated Artist’ in 2017. This is a great chance to see two of the hottest DJ’s in the game before Matoma’s set which is sure to be a great vibe and spectacle as well. The tickets are still cheap, starting at $26 for a night filled with great music and dancing — an absolute bargain if you ask me.
