Har Mar Superstar and Sabrina Ellis of A Giant Dog Announce New Album as Heart Bones for February 2020 Release

Sean Tillmann of Har Mar Superstar and Sabrina Ellis of A Giant Dog/Sweet Spirit have teamed up as Heart Bones,  and will be releasing their debut album titled Hot Dish on February 21, 2020 via Love OnLine Records. The band debuted their first collaborative track titled “Open Relations,” earlier this year and have also announced their inaugural tour for 2020.

“Open Relations,” is an infectious indie pop track with catchy synths, a funky bassline, rhythmic drums and a hint of nostalgia layered throughout the entire track. The songs lyrics also call back this nostalgia, with the lyrics discussing love and heartbreak, in a simple style reminiscent of 1980s pop songs.

As Har Mar Superstar, Tillman often blurs the line with contemporary R&B and pop, taking a ton of inspiration from a variety of genres such as soul all the way to punk rock. The performers most recent album release Best Summer Ever was released back in 2016.

Back in 2018 the performer provoked some controversy after being accused of cultural appropriation by a producer known as Afrokeys for doing a Sam Cooke tribute tour across the US. After discussing with the producer at great lengths, Tillman decided to open up an education fund in support of the African American community.

“Every day is a learning opportunity, and I decided to donate a large portion of my tour proceeds, $4000 in total to be exact, to 4 different organizations in the Twin Cities that will foster education and music opportunities within the African American community,” Tillman explained.

A Giant Dog released their album Toy back in 2017. Check out our review of the project here.
