Snoop Dogg Will Be Lighting Up The Fillmore On January 18

Snoop is one of the most iconic rappers ever to touch a mic. He has debatably influenced west coast style and sound more than any other rapper along with Pac. With his music career beginning in 1992, he has had quite the run. His unique beats, incredible cadence and style of rapping, and overall persona have propelled him to the very top. He has sold over 23 million albums in the US and 35 million worldwide, and he is still creating masterpieces. He just came out with his 17th studio album this year, titled I Wanna Thank Me. He is not only a rap icon, but he has branched out into almost every field imaginable. He is listed as a rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, media personality, entrepreneur, and actor — not to mention that he is definitely on the Mount Rushmore of weed smokers.

Snoop released the amazing solo debut album Doggystyle in 1993 and everything changed after that. He brought a light-hearted and fun vibe to an east coast vs. west coast feud that was filled with animosity and violence. After appearing for the first time on Dre’s The Chronic, the hype surrounding Snoop had Doggystyle skyrocket to #1 on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and the album became certified quadruple platinum in 1994. His second album, Tha Doggfather also debuted at #1 on both charts and went double platinum. After his first 3 albums, snoop left Death Row Records and signed with many record labels in the coming years, including No Limit Records, Capitol Records, and Geffen Records.

Recently, he has changed his name to Snoop Lion for a Reggae album and Snoopzilla for his album with Dam Funk, and he even has a cooking show with Martha Stewart! He is a personality that everyone is drawn to and his music represents the sound of an era. He can easily be grouped with the greats such as Biggie, Pac, Dre, Nas, Wu-Tang, Eminem, Andre 3000, Jay Z, Kanye, etc. He has solidified his place at the top of the rap game and you have the opportunity to see him perform live at the Fillmore on January 18. Do not miss out on this incredible opportunity to see Snoop in person before it’s too late.
