Open’er Festival Announces 2020 Lineup Featuring Kendrick Lamar, FKA Twigs and A$AP Rocky

Polish music festival Open’er has announced their 2020 lineup, according to Open’er. The lineup is set to feature Kendrick Lamar, FKA Twigs, A$AP Rocky, and others. The festival is set to take place from July 1-4 of this year; it will be the 18th installment of the festival since its inception in 2012.

The artists that have been announced to feature at the lineup so far are certainly intriguing. Though Kendrick Lamar has not released new music since January of 2017, he remains one of rap’s most dominant, and also mysterious figures. The last time Lamar toured following the release of DAMN, he took on the “Kung Fu Kenny” persona, so perhaps this time around his stage presence will adjust to the new music he may be potentially working on.

English born FKA Twigs has achieved early success in her career; she has performed at a myriad of festivals around the globe already, and her name being mentioned in the same breath as names like Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky is certainly an achievement in it of itself. A$AP Rocky made international headlines during the summer of this past year when he was imprisoned in Sweden after a scuffle broke out between Rocky and a fan. He has not released any new music since the release of his album TESTING in 2018, but due to his debacle with the Swedish authorities, the demand for his performing live has been higher than it has in years. UPDATE (2/12): Open’er Festival has added 10 more artists to its 2020 lineup. Included in this round of artists are electronic masters The Chemical Brothers, alt-pop singer Banks, rapper Playboi Carti, singer-songwriter Angel Olsen, Seasick Steve, EDM act RÜFÜS DU SOL, Flohio, Inhaler and Sea Girls.

UPDATE (2/27): Open’er has a big addition to their 2020 lineup: The Cure. The festival will be the location of the seminal goth-rock band’s only European festival appearance in 2020.
