Chester Bennington’s Former Group Grey Daze Set to Release Re-Recorded Album Featuring Late Singer’s Vocals

It may seem impossible today to imagine the energetic vocalist that was Chester Bennington in any other band that was not the renowned nu-metal group Linkin Park, but reality offers what imagination cannot. Before his historic run with Linkin Park, Chester formed part of a group called Grey Daze and was, in fact, revisiting the band’s music for release before he tragically and shockingly took his own life in July of 2017. Grey Daze is now honoring the late singer by completing the work that Bennington had begun and is currently reworking the tracks for release, according to Theprp. Talinda Bennington, the late singer’s widow, released a statement via Instagram that details the process while also stating the significance of the release:

For any fan of music, this upcoming release is a treat, but it is also an intimate look at the life of an artist who, at that time, would soon embark on the greatest journey of his life, one that would have him reach the pinnacle of stardom and help cement his legacy in music forever. The upcoming record will, of course, be full of guest appearances from those that were closest to Bennington, artists hoping to pay their respects to a friend, father, and husband. Korn‘s Brian “Head” Welch and Bennington’s son Jaime are among the guest performers which also include P.O.D.‘s Marcos Curiel and eclectic singer LP. Talinda let it be known that the record will be released via 320, which is the suicide prevention foundation she founded after the singer’s death.

A story worth telling will always have many narrators: those who witnessed it, those who heard of it, and those who are inspired by it. Such is the case of this life that Chester Bennington lived and what he left behind for family and friends to rejoice in. Grey Daze offers a look at the genesis of an artist, influential, tragic, and unquestionably unique.
