DIIV Plays Three Nights at the Lodge Room December 14th-16th

Look you’ve got to be special if you get to hold down a venue for three straight nights. It’s the type of deal typically reserved for rockstars who prefer to tour at a more leisurely pace and check out the sights and sounds of the towns they find themselves in. It’s incredibly rare to hold down that many nights at a mid-sized venue, particularly because the bands that find themselves at a place like the Lodge Room may not be big enough to really justify having so many nights all to themselves, and the bands that do justify it often don’t play venues that small.

DIIV then must be different, I couldn’t say if it was because the deal they worked out with the Lodge Room was mutually beneficial, or if it’s because they simply like Los Angeles (fair), but I do know that it communicates a lot of love for their fans. DIIV, while not the world’s biggest band, are certainly one of the more acclaimed indie rock acts of the modern era, and deservedly so, their 2012 debut Oshin turned more than a few heads and endeared them to much of the world’s music press.

The Lodge Room presents an excellent opportunity for DIIV to further endear themselves to their West Coast fans. They may be a band out of Brooklyn but having a first album with a name like Oshin certainly makes them Californians at heart. Be sure to grab tickets up quick because you’re almost out of time to catch a great show at a great venue!
