Courtney Barnett is the latest in a long line of great artists to cut an MTV Unplugged session, this one for MTV Australia and taking place in her hometown of Melbourne. Today, she’s announced the release of her MTV Unplugged appearance for a physical release on February 21, while it can be streamed digitally tonight.
The set, which she performed with her usual backing band Dave Mudie and Bones Sloane, includes some of her best known songs like “Depreston,” “Nameless, Faceless” and her breakout hit “Avant Gardner.” Evelyn Ida Morris joins her on “Nameless, Faceless,” and the set also includes covers of “Not Only I” by Seeker Lover Keeper, “So Long, Marianne” by Leonard Cohen and “Charcoal Lane” by Archie Roach. “Charcoal Lane” features Paul Kelly.
