Here is a video from the 2019 Sonic Temple Festival;
Danny Wimmer Presents music festivals across the United States, with two separate sets taking place at each show. In which the decision to book Metallica was inspired by the band’s reputation as one of the most prolific touring acts in music history. The band will be playing 10 separate shows with unique tracklist’s for each performance.
“Metallica isn’t just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it’s an event. It’s an experience. That’s the same standard we’ve set for every DWP festival – from the first band to the last band, and everything that happens in between. I can’t wait to bring the biggest band in the world to the biggest rock festivals in America,” Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents, explained. “Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument, or first started a band, because of Metallica?”
This will be the second annual year of Sonic Temple after it debuted in 2018. Metallica will be headlining for Sonic Temple as well as Epicenter, Rockville, Louder than Life and AfterShock hard rock music festivals.
UPDATE (2/25): After the news that Metallica would be dropping out of appearances at Sonic Temple, the festival had to find not one, but two headliners to fill in for the legendary metal band. They found pretty solid replacements in Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tool, who will now be headlining the two nights in place of Metallica. Check out the updated flyer below:
