Metallica is set to headline all of the 2020 Danny Wimmer Presents festivals, which include The Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival, and the Epicenter Louder Than Life, Aftershock and Welcome To Rockville festivals. The Epicenter music festival and Welcome Rockville Festivals will have two venue changes, with Epicenter taking place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC, and Welcome To Rockville moving to the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL.
For the first time ever, the band is scheduled to perform two different headlining sets at all five of the music festivals next year. Each performance is scheduled to have a unique performance, meaning that the band will be performing 10 different shows for each festival appearance.
Epicenter will take place first from May 1-3, while Welcome To Rockville will follow a week later from May 8-10. The Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival will take place from May 15-17 at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, OH, while Louder Than Life and Aftershock will take place from September 18-20 at Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville, KY and from October 9-11 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA.

Danny Wimmer, the founder of Danny Wimmer presents.explained that the reason for choosing Metallica was their high profile. The band may be one of the most lucrative touring acts in the industry, having grossed $1.4 billion on tour since 1982.
“Metallica isn’t just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it’s an event. It’s an experience. That’s the same standard we’ve set for every DWP festival – from the first band to the last band, and everything that happens in between. I can’t wait to bring the biggest band in the world to the biggest rock festivals in America,” says Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument, or first started a band, because of Metallica?”
