LA is a good city to wash up in. In a literal sense you could wash up on the shores of LA and casually live the rest of your life here, it never snows, rarely gets below 40, and is sunny 300+ days of the year. It’s also a good place to be washed up, because while LA is a city full of trendsetters, entertainment giants, media conglomerates and tech companies, all anyone really wants to do here is briefly become rich or famous, preferably both, then drift into irrelevance somewhere in the Palisades. But not everything works out that way for most people. Most either go back to where they came from or stay locked in moderate obscurity, like a majority of human beings, living in a decent house or apartments for the rest of their life. Homeward Bound is a show to help those who didn’t get so lucky and who have found themselves on the streets with nowhere to go and no place to stay.
Luckily for the homeless community of Los Angeles, the Homeward Bound benefit concert has their back. Originally announced with artists Morgxn, Fitz and the Tantrums, Phillip Phillps and Scarypoolparty, the benefit has increased in size and scope with the recent additions of The Doors Robby Krieger & John Densmore as well as Jason Mraz.
Chances are if you’re reading this that you have a home, or at least a roof over your head. It’s easy to take things for granted and everyone’s life is difficult in their own particular way. But with the holiday season approaching, it’s the best time to consider putting your money towards something good. Why not attend a concert at one of the best venues in LA and put some money towards a great cause. Sometimes, the music really is just a side benefit.
