According to Brooklyn Vegan, alternative rock band The National is hosting a music festival in Cincinnati on May 8 and 9. Aptly named Homecoming, after the band’s hometown roots, the festival is in association with MusicNOW. Fans can see two unique sets from The National, as well a lineup that includes Of Monsters and Men, Patti Smith and Her Band, Sylvan Esso, Local Natives, Japanese Breakfast, and Hamilton Leithauser.
The National’s lead singer Matt Berninger and guitarist Aaron Dessner have had a particularly active year. Dessner recently produced an original score for Netflix’s new film The Two Popes. Meanwhile, Berninger announced a new solo project, Serpentine Prison, which will be produced by soul legend Booker T. Jones. Additionally, fans of the Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men can be sure to hear hits off their newest album, Fever Dream. Even punk-rock legend Patti Smith will be there, coming from a performance at Knoxville Tennessee’s Big Ears Music Festival.
Tickets will be on sale Friday, November 22 at 10:00am EST. Fans can purchase them directly on the festival website at https://www.ntlhomecoming.com/tickets/.
