Jesca Hoop Debuts “Song for a Bygone Era” and “Waking Andreas” From Her Summer Sessions for Her Latest Album Stonechild

American singer and songwriter, Jesca Hoop, dropped her two new singles “Song for a Bygone Era” and “Waking Andreas” on Nov. 13.

“Song for a Bygone Era” starts off with a very melodious guitar riff, with a soft lyrical verse. The entire tone and vibe from the song is very adventurous. The drumbeats are at a smooth tempo, which complements the mystical tone of her voice throughout the song. The song takes an ethereal turn towards the end as she repeatedly sings, “sounds like a record.”

Hoop mentioned the song was written for Tony Blake and Shawn.

“Walking Andreas” is a completely different tone from “Song for a Bygone Era.” It starts off with a hypnotic vibe. The soft string plucking, and background instrumentals add a mysterious effect to her lyrics. The feeling of admiration and marveling is evident in her voice throughout the song, and the ad-libs nearing the end almost makes the vibe turn spooky.

The art for both of the new singles is a reflection of what entails in both songs. The girl, portrayed in the art, has long beautiful hair, which flows from her head, and develops into the ocean.

Hoop recently released her album, Stonechild, this year, and kicked off her tour on Nov. 13 in Los Angeles, CA at the Highland Parl Ebell.
