Power Trip Unveils Two New Singles “Precinct 3” & “Scavenger” Marking First New Music Since Riley Gale’s Passing

Power Trip is officially back with new music, and they’re wasting no time reminding everyone why they became one of the most influential bands in modern crossover thrash. The Dallas-based outfit has released a pair of new singles, “Precinct 3” and “Scavenger,” marking their first new recordings since the 2020 passing of frontman Riley Gale. Both tracks arrive through Blue Grape Music, with an accompanying music video for “Precinct 3” directed by Eric Richter.

For a band whose last studio album, Nightmare Logic, arrived in 2017, the anticipation surrounding this release has been building for years. Moving forward without Gale is an undeniable challenge, but these new tracks make it clear that Power Trip aren’t interested in simply recreating the past. Instead, the band is finding a way to honor their history while establishing what the next chapter looks like with vocalist Seth Gilmore, who joined the lineup in 2023.

Both singles were recorded at Empire Sound in Carrollton, Texas, with Jacob Hansen handling production and Ibanez serving as co-producer. Known for his work with bands including Arch Enemy, Volbeat, and The Black Dahlia Murder, Hansen brings a polished edge to the recordings while retaining the grit that has always defined Power Trip’s sound. According to drummer Chris Ulsh, the goal was to find a balance between a contemporary production and the band’s roots in the extreme metal underground.

The two tracks will also receive a limited-edition 7-inch release, with an additional Record Store Day Black Friday edition featuring alternate artwork scheduled for November 27, 2026. More importantly, these singles are only the beginning. Power Trip have spent more than a year working on new material, with their next full-length album currently expected in spring 2027. The band is also set to perform at Slayer’s Reign In Blood 40th-anniversary show in Mexico City on October 21, Sick New World Texas in Fort Worth on October 24, and The Great NOLA Trendkill in New Orleans on November 20.
