Phoebe Bridgers Reunites With Boygenius For Performances Of “Haunted” & “Lost Boys” For Sound Check At Cherry Lane Theatre

Phoebe Bridgers reunited with her boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker for a special three-song performance at New York City’s Cherry Lane Theatre, giving fans a rare on-camera reunion of the Grammy-winning trio. The close set also features longtime collaborator Ethan Gruska, with the group performing “Haunted” and “Lost Boys” before Bridgers joins Gruska for an acoustic rendition of “On Video,” a song featured in the upcoming film PRIMETIME. The performances are part of Sound Check at Cherry Lane Theatre, a series presented by A24 that brings artists to the historic West Village venue for stripped-back live sessions. Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the latest instalment offers a more intimate setting for Bridgers, whose recent Lost Tour has included sold-out shows around the world.

Produced by A24, A24 Music, and Cherry Lane Theatre, Sound Check has previously featured performances from artists including Tame Impala and Blood Orange. The series uses Cherry Lane’s intimate stage to present musicians in a stripped-back setting, offering a different perspective on artists who typically perform for much larger audiences. For boygenius fans, though, the biggest draw is undoubtedly seeing Bridgers, Baker, and Dacus sharing the stage again. Their performances of “Haunted” and “Lost Boys” make this installment a particularly special entry in the series, while the collaboration with Gruska gives the session an added connection to Bridgers’ work on PRIMETIME.

Bridgers then welcomes Baker and Dacus for performances of “Haunted” and “Lost Boys,” bringing boygenius back together in front of the cameras for the first time since the trio’s November 2023 appearance on Saturday Night Live. While the session is brief, the reunion offers another opportunity to see the three musicians’ chemistry outside the larger-scale performances and festival appearances associated with the group. Gruska’s appearance also makes sense given his long-standing creative relationship with Bridgers, who has frequently collaborated with him throughout her career.
