Shovels & Rope, CAAMP, Durand Jones & The Indications, and DeVotchKa are set to headline the Savannah Stopover Music Festival from March 5th to March 7th, 2020, in Savannah, Georgia. Other prominent acts such as Omni, Kate Bollinger, Illiterate Light and Sierra Ferrell are also set to perform at the music festival, which is known for spotlighting various indie artists.
Numerous acts from a variety of different genres such as Grimes, of Montreal, The War On Drugs, Future Islands, Mac Demarco, Margo Price, Julien Baker, St. Lucia, DIIV, Ra Ra Riot and St. Paul & The Broken Bones have performed at the festival in the past.
Shovels and Rope are a folk duo, who are known for blending various elements of rock and roll, and deep storytelling into their music. Their most recent album By Blood was released last month.
“The narrative and authentic lyrics can be relatable while still creating a beautiful compelling story,” mxdwn reviewer Madeline Capozza explained. “The intense personal themes throughout the album fluctuate, ranging from ghostly and provocative to gritty and raw. This album combines genres such as punk, rock and honky-tonk while still keeping the alternative indie style.
Omni released their guitar heavy album Networkers last month as well. “Omni are set to release the third LP of their career, Networkers, and it’s, by all means, the synthesis of enamored guitar playing. Guitars support the overall structure of the tracks, and more so, become points from which the band can improvise and run their vocals,” mxdwn reviewer Alessandro Gueli explained.
DeVotchKa released their album This Night Falls Forever back in August.
