Bat For Lashes, the indie pop project spearheaded by Natasha Khan has announced a set of winter 2020 tour dates in support of her latest album release Lost Girls, which dropped in September. These upcoming tour dates will begin at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle, Washington and will wrap up at the Phoenix Concert Theater in Tornto, Ontario, Canada.
Lost Girls was Bat For Lashes fifth studio album, following up from her 2016 release The Bride, a concept album with numerous rock and baroque pop influences. Lost Girls featured a more electronic based sound with clear influences from film (the title being a call back to the classic 1980s film The Lost Boys, and groups such as Depeche Mode and Eurythmics.
“Maybe it’s not even a conscious thing, but rather an instinctual part of her process, and if anything, it’s refreshing to see an artist so subtly defy the weight of commercial expectation,” mxdwn reviewer Alessandro Gueli explained. “However, in the end, the question we are left asking ourselves is less to do with the process and more to do with the result – is the driving narrative behind Kahn’s music an eccentric addition, or is it more isolating than anything else?”
Lost Girls was supported by the singles “Kids In The Dark,” and “Feel For You,” along with a social media campaign which saw the performer tease snippets of the project. “Kids In The Dark,” took inspiration from the film Lost Boys, staying in tune with its eclectic pop and horror film style.
