Not everything has to be exactly as it seems, and why should it be? It’s Halloween for Christ’s sake, so let’s all get a little weird, dress up in some costumes and make tragically bad decisions. I mean, hell, once you can’t trick or treat anymore life is pretty much over so we might as well get as weird as we possibly can at least once a year. This year, there doesn’t seem to be any better Halloween party than the one taking place at The Factory on 10/31.
Anyone who listens to music at all will have a couple bands or artists that they wish they could’ve seen live. Sometimes it’s a regretful “I can’t believe I missed them” artist like David Bowie or a “I wish I could’ve seen them back in the day” artist like Queen with Freddie Mercury at the helm or Led Zeppelin back in their prime. Regardless of the band, it’s doubtless that you have at least a few you wished you’d seen but will never get the chance too. The Factory hopes to fix that.
Sure, seeing a band imitate another band isn’t exactly what I’m sure you had in mind, but if you’re looking for bands to play the role of The Ramones, Misfits, Bad Brains, and Blondie, you could certainly do worse than the incredible assemblage of Bleached, together PANGEA, Reckling, and NICE. Hell, you might only be able to do better if you get the original bands back together.
What this show really chalks up to is good old fashioned Halloween fun. It’s a dress up concert, where excellent bands dress up as punk rock legends to let loose and have a great time. No matter the results, anyone who attends can rest easy knowing that this show is guaranteed to be one of the most entertaining shows of the year. Because sometimes it’s about more than a transcendent experience, it’s about kicking it and having a good time, sometimes that’s a revelation all to itself.
