Napalm Death Are Mixing a New Album

While grindcore band Napalm Death may be missing their bassist and vocalist Shane Embury on their recent 2019 tour, he’s still hard at work for the band. According to recent social media post, the musician is busy mixing the band’s next album with Russ Russell, who worked with At The Gates and Memoriam, at Parlour Recording Studios in Kettering, UK.

“Mixing commences on the New ND album…. getting the sounds together!” a post made on the band’s official Facebook page reads. Their fifteenth and most recent studio album, Apex Predator – Easy Meat, was released back in 2015, and was also produced by Russell.

The grindcore legends are currently touring with Municipal Waste, Sick Of It All and Take Offense across the United States. The bands began their tour in Dallas, Texas at Gas Monkey Live and will ultimately close their tour at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles next week. It is currently unknown why Embury was unable to tour.

“Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, I will not be able to grind on the US tour with Sick of It All and Municipal Waste,” the performer wrote on social media. “Driving the bass bulldozer will be Vernon Blake, long-time friend and veteran grindcore/hardcore dealer with his Rigid Records label.”

The band will be making an appearance at Decibel Metal and Beer Fest Philly for the 2020 edition of the festival. They will host a one-time-only set of 1990’s Harmony Corruption and 1992’s Utopia Banished at the Fillmore during the festival, which will also host the likes of Converge, Pig Destroyer, Mayhem, Satan, Night Demon and Haunt.
