Pop artist Charli XCX has debuted a new music video for “White Mercedes.” a song from her album Charli, which was released earlier this year via Atlantic Records. This music video was directed by Colin Solal Cardo and his team, and filmed in Kiev, Ukraine, and features Charli XCX destroying the aforementioned white Mercedes in the video.
The video opens up with the singer in the middle of a field, while a crane holds up her body which is inside a wehite Mercedes, mentioned in the song title. Vaarious shots cut to the singer lying in the field as a truck spins in circles around her, followed up by the aforementioned truck demolishing the car, and the car eventually being set on fire toward the end of the visual.
Solal Cardo and his team also directed the music video for Charli XCX’s song “Gone,” which was a collaboration between the singer and Christine and the Queens. Christine and The Queens joined up with Charli XCX during a performance of this track on The Tonight Show earlier this year.
Charli hosted a plethora of artists such as Lizzo, Haim, Troye Sivan, CupcakKe, Sky Ferreira, Clairo, and Yaeji, allowing the performer to explore various pop elements on the album.
“This album filled with infectious beats, typical tongue-in-cheek pop lyrics and musical diversity that not many can accomplish, showcases exactly how Charli XCX has managed to make waves in the industry over the past decade,” Marianna Salcedo explained in her review of the record.
